Bio

Michael Levitt, M.D., is a neurosurgeon at the Neurological Surgery Clinic and Cerebrovascular Lab at Harborview. Dr. Levitt is also a UW associate professor of Neurological Surgery and Radiology and an adjunct associate professor of Mechanical Engineering. 

Dr. Levitt specializes in minimally invasive treatment of diseases of the brain and spine. He provides microsurgical and endovascular expertise, often in combination, to approach each patient’s medical needs. He believes a patient’s quality of life is the most important factor in medical care 

Dr. Levitt graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Chicago. His research interests include translational efforts to understand how cerebral aneurysms form, grow and rupture. His research has received multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, and other foundations.
