Michael Chen, MD is a board-certified, Associate Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology. His training consists of neurology residency, stroke and neuroendovascular surgery fellowships at Yale, Beth-Israel Deaconess and Columbia, respectively. Dr. Chen has been in practice at Rush for nearly 10 years and has been fortunate to work with Demetrius Lopes, MD (endovascular neurosurgeon).
Dr. Chen has been interviewed on ABC, FOX and CBS news as well as the Chicago Tribune and the Wall Street Journal. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers, invited to speak at national and international meetings, and is an associate editor for the Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery. He was elected in 2015 to the Board of Directors for the Society for Neurointerventional Surgery(SNIS). He serves on the SNIS Annual Meeting Committee and the Standards & Guidelines Committee. He also works actively with foundations by serving on the Scientific Advisory Boards for the Niekro Foundation and the Bee Foundation. He has previously served on the Rush University Medical Staff Executive Committee.
